Pupstrology With Astromaji – Your Dog’s Personality Profile Based On Their Zodiac Sign

I love reading about my own sign, even if I don’t understand the nuances of astrology. I’ve always wondered if astrology applies to dogs, and if so… how? So I consulted astrologer Astro Maji to tell us what we can learn about our dogs based on their date of birth.

“There have been questions surrounding the astrology of pets and how it applies to them. Truth is, your dog’s birthday has just as much of an influence on their personality as a human’s birthday. Personality traits by sun sign shine through when you take a moment to observe your pups,” says Maji.

“When it comes to love and financial life assessments based upon a dog’s chart, it would heavily rely on the owner’s situation, as dogs are dependent on their owners to provide them with TLC, a companion, shelter, and exercise. However, some people may provide a cozy home while others provide a mansion and stays in doggie hotels… and as we all know, some dogs fall on the unlucky side of the spectrum and are homeless. We would have to delve deeply into an individual dog’s chart to go deeper, but for now let’s take a look at each of the signs and how they apply to your Pup!”

Aries 

March 21 – April 19

Aries pets are adventurous and headstrong.  They make great agility dogs and absolutely love to hike. They are usually confident and super fun, but can get themselves into sticky situations as they are known to leap before they look. Aries pets do not like to share you, as they see themselves as the whole world in which you live.  They want to be doted on and put first no matter what. At times they may march to the beat of their own drum and not really bother to listen. When that occurs, they need a bit of correction to understand that the world does not in fact revolve around them. Aries is a fire sign ruled by the planet Mars and represents the first house of the zodiac wheel.

Taurus

April 20 – May 20

You can find a Taurus dog in nature with their loving owner laying on the grass in a peace and harmony while silently observing a pond. They do not thrive in chaotic environments, but are known to be one of the most stubborn dogs in the zodiac. When they set their mind to something, no amount of tugging on the leash will move them, so the strategy would be to offer them their favorite food to get them to oblige. They will often come to you if they want to be pet and snuggled and walk away gently if they want to lay alone.  However, do not leave them around fireworks or extremely loud music, or you will see the bull turn into a baby cow and run for cover. Taurus is an earth sign ruled by the planet Venus and represents the second house of the zodiac wheel.

Gemini

May 21 – June 20

This pup can be a true enigma.  They are sometimes introverted, and sometimes extroverted. They can be known to go where the wind blows and will usually play with any human or fellow dog that gives them attention…until they get bored of them and move on to the next friend. They are quick and agile, learning new commands at warp speed. They can have some anxiety if you leave them alone for too long. They get easily bored and could get themselves into trouble if that happens, so make sure to leave them with some puzzle toys so they can keep their cerebral nature occupied. They thrive when you give them freedom to roam a backyard at will. Gemini is an air sign ruled by the planet Mercury and represents the third house of the zodiac wheel.

Cancer

June 21 – July 22

This dog is usually known for its sensitivity and chunky belly.  They absolutely love food and see it as the ultimate love gesture when you feed them, but too much love can be harmful to your pup, so go easy on the treats. They are highly emotional, but will also worry about your needs and jump to give you endless kisses if they see you are not feeling well. Cancer dogs absolutely love babies and sibling animals and will nurture them as their own if you allow them to.  They need to feel wanted and reassured that they mean a lot to you, or they can get upset and act up. They enjoy long walks on the beach with their owner. Cancer is a water sign ruled by the moon and represents the fourth house of the zodiac wheel.

Leo

July 23 – August 22

The Leo dog is the most loyal in the zodiac, but give another dog or human more attention, and watch them roar…or growl. They are so much fun and find creative ways to make you laugh, such as making funny faces or rolling over and looking cute for attention and treats. They will have loads of energy for outdoor walks, but can snuggle equally as much when they have a lazy streak. They usually have a regal strut and think they are the most gorgeous dog at the dog park, and they very well may be. Make them the center of attention and there will never be a dull moment or warmer kisses. They do best with beta dogs, as they need to rule the roost as the alpha boss, just don’t let them boss you around too much, or they will run you as well. Leo is a fire sign ruled by the sun and represents the fifth house of the zodiac wheel.

Virgo

August 23 – September 22

Virgo dogs are not the type to roll around in the mud.  They would much rather be obedient and on a very refined schedule…8 am daily walks anyone?  This dog will most likely always be cool, calm, and collected. They are very smart and only act up in extreme situations, i.e. being two hours late for their walk. They don’t like to feel abandoned and are no-nonsense and very contained. They may very well follow your lead and want to be around you when possible. They are ok being the lone dog and thrive in busy, yet pleasant homes. Virgo dogs will usually eat at the same time daily and avoid overindulgence. Virgo is an earth sign ruled by the planet Mercury and represents the sixth house of the zodiac wheel.

Libra

September 23 – October 22

Libra dogs are dogs are sometimes unsure and indecisive.  They need loads of attention and correction while training, as they tend to lose focus very quickly (Did someone say squirrel!?). They are loving and really enjoy having a doggie sibling, as they do not like to be home alone. They also dislike being disciplined harshly, as they try their best to listen and respond well to a loving touch. They need a balanced, structured environment to thrive. Take them on a car ride during a pretty sunset, and they’ll love you for life. Don’t give them too much food, allow them to eat at their own pace. Libra is an air sign ruled by the planet Venus and represents the seventh house of the zodiac wheel.

Scorpio

October 23 – November 21

The Scorpio dog is emotional, strong, and active. They make good police dogs because they crave structure and love discipline and hard work. The Scorpio dog cannot be left to do as they please or they will walk all over their owner and act like the boss. However, they can usually manipulate you into giving them what they want by acting super cute. They don’t forgive easily, so if you are going to spend time with other dogs without them, make sure you shower before you go home or they may not look at you for a few hours. Same goes for vacationing without them. They don’t mind being alone, but also crave some quality time with their owners. Scorpio is a water sign ruled by the planet Pluto and represents the eighth house of the zodiac wheel.

Sagittarius

November 22 – December 21

This dog is a great teacher of patience, as they want to be doted on constantly with tons of physical touch and affection. They make it known that they will not take no for an answer when they crave your undivided attention.  They usually need a companion at home or they could get severe separation anxiety. They do not like to be bored, and will always be snooping or looking for an adventure. They are so bonded to their owners and easily get jealous if their owner gives their siblings more attention and praise. Other dogs may attempt to dim Sag’s light, but will be sadly mistaken if they think they are underdogs as they have no problem sticking up for themselves. They are usually extroverted and like to socialize at the dog park. Sagittarius is a fire sign ruled by the planet Jupiter and represents the ninth house of the zodiac wheel.

Capricorn

December 22 – January 19

Capricorn dogs are cautious and calculated. They take their time in getting to know the people and animals around them and do not usually act overly affectionate.  They like to climb and hike, and usually have a dog bed to retire to when they want to be alone. They can sometimes be intense and stubborn if they want something and are denied, but for the most part, they do well with structure and discipline. They adore it if you give them a job to do. They don’t respect other beings they can walk all over, so be sure to correct any bad behavior right away. They can have anxiety if they are overloaded with stress, so be sure to give them time to decompress by playing some classical music for them. Capricorn is an earth sign ruled by the planet Saturn and represents the tenth house of the zodiac wheel.

Aquarius

January 20 – February 18

Aquarius dogs love to have friends and are usually super smart.  Their sixth sense will have them sensing your mood and acting accordingly. They can have a severe stubborn streak though, so they may sometimes need to be kept busy so their overactive minds don’t get the best of them. They know how to fit in with other animals on a farm and can wander off by themselves if they need to decompress and plan to take over the world. They can also be very loving and excitable, doing zoomies out of thin air. Aquarius is an air sign ruled by the planet Uranus and represents the eleventh house of the zodiac wheel.

Pisces

February 19 – March 20

Pisces dogs are extremely sensitive and are the empaths of the bunch.  They will instinctively know how you feel and want to please you when you are stressed, as they will be an extension of you.  They are usually very sweet and calm, but can also fly under the radar if they feel like eating the garbage like those funny dog videos you see on YouTube. They need calm environments, and can sometimes crave some alone time to sleep on their backs and dream of rainbows and harps. They may seem like push-overs to other dogs, but they would rather walk away than fight due to their need for a peaceful existence. Pisces is a water sign ruled by the planet Neptune and represents the twelfth house of the zodiac wheel.
