I love my potty bells. They were a game-changing tool in getting Matilda potty trained.
But they’re annoying. Especially when she crashes into them ten times because I’m not getting up fast enough. And at night, the clattering bells wake up my family members. They’re kind of an earsore.
That’s why I was so excited to hear about Paws2Go… and I know you’re going to love it too.
Little Dog Tips has received a product and compensation for creating content about Paws2Go, all opinions are our own. We only feature products we absolutely love and recommend.
Paws2Go is an electronic, smart potty bell system. When your dog presses the button, it lights up, plays back your recorded message, AND…
SENDS A NOTIFICATION TO YOUR PHONE. I’m dead serious.
It’s crazy. Now your dog can “text” you when she needs to go out.

What Exactly IS Paws2Go?
When you order Paws2Go, you get the button, already loaded with 3AAA batteries and ready to set up. Turn the button over, remove the little plastic tab, and press the red button to record your message.
I went with “Let’s go outside!” because my dogs know what that means. So, if Matilda presses the button, it will summon Cow. You can re-record as many times as you want. You can even record your old-fashioned potty bells in the beginning to help your dog get the concept, or if you ever miss that noise.
You can also download the Paws2Go app (it’s FREE!) and synchronize the button with your phone over Bluetooth. Then, every time your dog presses the button, you’ll get a notification on your phone as long as you’re in range (100 meters or 300 feet). Our button is downstairs and I get notifications upstairs.
The Most Little-Friendly Smart Potty Bell!
When researching electronic potty bells to feature here on Little Dog Tips, a common complaint in reviews was that small dogs were not strong or heavy enough to set off most buttons.

I was concerned because Matilda, at 5 pounds, is very light on her feet. I didn’t think she would be able to make Paws2Go work.
So, I was pleasantly surprised when she got it right away.
As it turns out, Paws2Go was created with the inventor’s small dog, Reese, in mind.
Paws2Go doesn’t have a mechanical push-down button functionality, it’s more like a touchpad. But it won’t go off randomly because it has a <1 second timer – so your dog has to give it a deliberate touch to make it go off.
I’m finding the touchpad to work fabulously. It goes off when it should, but it’s not overly sensitive.
Other Notable Features
The blue lights are not easy to see in my videos because I recorded in a bright room, but I love that both the lights and buttons are blue. Dogs are red-green colorblind, so blue is very easy for them to see. That’s why so many toys, agility courses and gadgets for dogs are blue.
The AAA batteries can last up to a year, and I kind of love that this uses common, easy to find batteries.
Lastly, I’m glad that you don’t have to mount it, unless you want to. You can just set it on the floor.
Who Would I Recommend Get Paws2Go?
If your dog is already potty bell trained, it will only take a few days for her to understand that Paws2Go has replaced it.
If your dog is not yet potty bell trained, you can start with Paws2Go, and you might notice fewer accidents once she realizes how easy it is to communicate with you, even if you’re not closeby.
I would also recommend Paws2Go for deaf dog parents – both people with hearing loss who have dogs, and people who have deaf dogs. The blue lights and text notification seem like they would be super helpful for either.
Get Your Own Paws2Go!
The regular price for Paws2Go is only $49.99, and for the holidays it’s on sale for $39.99. Snatch it up!
If you’re willing to wait and try your luck, we’re hosting a giveaway – one lucky winner will get their own Paws2Go! Must be 18+ with a mailing address in the USA to enter.
I think it’s a great alternative to “potty bells”
I think this is reallt phenomenal my two dogs would get great use out of it. Max the minature pincher beagle mix and Jaxon the border collie. They currently go do the door now and or whine. This would be additional communication.
I NEED to see what your minpin/beagle looks like!! Please send some cute pics to Lindsay@Littledogtips.com or post on the Little Dog Tips Facebook Page. 🙂

This would be awesome to have for my 3 fur-babies…
I would use it for our two. One really needs to be trained to let us know when he needs to go. The other already tries, but we sometimes are a little sloe to realize what she wants.
I’m in a 3rd story 2/1 with my Boston Terrier and usually home all day. He scratches at the door or paws at me when he needs to go and I’m in bed. The text function would really help when we do leave the house and are at a place I can cut it and go home. Would help get out of those stressful social functions.
It uses bluetooth, so you wouldn’t get notifications from it when you’re out of the house, but it would be hilarious to say, “Oh, I got a text from my dog” in the middle of dinner. Still, “I have to go feed my dogs” is my go-to escape from social functions.

I would love to test this out. Right now my pups just get in my face and whine if they have to go potty or if they are hungry or whatnot, so this could maybe help break it all down for each of us.
It looks like such a handy tool and I would happily use it in my home
I think it sounds great. I would love for my dogs to be able to use this. I’d put it near my front door.
I would love to try to train my puppy with this. She is pleased trained but we want her to go outside.
This is a great product!I would love to use this in my home. I have a 10 month old puppy who I would love to use this with!
I would love to try it since we have a new puppy in the house plus and older dog who sometimes decides he dont want to let us know when he needs to go out and chooses to use my dining room floor as his potty
My puppy still has “accidents” at just over a year old. This may help her communicate with us better on when she really needs to go. Or she may just use it to say “hey, I want to go outside and play”. 🙂
I love this idea! I would give it to my daughter for my two grandpups, Charlie and Chloe. Charlie is a yorkie and Chloe is a shorkie.
Not sure. My dog is a silent alerter. Don’t know if she will use it, but would love to try. She does have accidents occasionally.
Sounds like a great alternative to potty bells alone.
My dog just looks at me – so I can’t tell when he has to go out. this would be fabulous!
It would be wonderful
so neat and different, would love to have this for my fur baby
It’s a pretty clever idea. I would give this to my son for his dog. Ours died 3 days ago.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss!
I love that this communicates from other rooms.
I think our Rescue Grimmy would use this- right now he gives me kisses- however, he is always giving kisses.
I would love to try this technology when I’m housebreaking/training my new puppy!
I would definitely use it…our little one just has a plain bell that scares him
Totally need this. Our chihuahua will sit silently @ a door waiting for someone to notice he wants to go outside, and if you don’t see him? Off he heads to a remote part of the house…
This is amazing for when the dog is waiting patiently at the door all the way across the house and I don’t know they’re there and they potty on the floor by the door! 😀
This would come in so handy for our puppy that we are currently training.
I would use it on my Male foster dogs.
this is an awesome giveaway. I would use it for my dog.
Sounds interesting, would love to see if it works for my dogs.
We’ve started fostering dogs, so this would be great for all the new dogs coming into our home.
i need this because my dogs get up in the middle of the night to go potty and they go to the door, but mom is sound asleep. i tried the bells but they never got the hang of it, i think this would be easier for them to learn.
Its easy to miss our little dogs signals to go outside, this would help so much!
Omg, this is extremely AWESOME! I would definitely used this with my Lilly pup! This would be soooooooo useful!
I’ve actually been looking into getting something like this. My boys would take a little training, but I think my girl, Megumi, would pick it up quickly (and the boys would learn from her like with so many other things).
I think it’s awesome and would be perfect for my senior dog who isn’t as vocal these days.
I would use it to train my dog to let me know when he has to potty. Right now he does show much interest in letting me know. I would love to give this a try.
I think it’s awesome! I have a chihuahua who sits up in front of me when he has to go potty. The problem is he does that anytime he wants something be it a treat, potty or just some attention. I am never quite sure just what it is he wants. He tries but sometimes I mistakenly think he is just being a pest (I know…shame on me)
Wow! This would be so useful! Much better than me always trying to interpret (and usually getting it wrong) what my pup is trying to say!
This is genius! I plan to adopt a new puppy soon, and would love to use this from the start on training my puppy.
I think it sounds like a great new idea. We just adopted a rescue doggie and we’re having a hard time with potty training. Most of the time she does go outside to potty but not all the time. I know it’s going to take some getting use to on both sides it’s just hard sometimes.
I would love this for someone.
Worried my dog is smart enough to send false alarms just for attention
I would totally train my new dog when I get her to use it!
my dogs would love this product
I would love this for my dog who is bell-trained!
Sounds crazy while reading the review, just loved it.
I think this would be fantastic for when I’m at work, as I could ask someone to stop by and let the dogs out if needed.
Well, the “text” is a notification from the app, the button connects to your phone through Bluetooth, so you wouldn’t be able to get a text while you’re at work.. unless you work from home. 🙂
I think this would work great for our family. We have an older dog who if you’re not paying attention will just potty all over the floor. This would give her a way to get our attention if we’re not nearby.
Just got a new golden retriever so this will help with training
Would be great to have as my babies get older.
I would love to use this in my home! We adopted Make and are having a time getting him trained!
This is such an ingenious product. We have a new puppy and it would help a lot
It’s a funny gadget.
We are getting a new puppy and would love to have this as a potty training tool, we used to use a bell for our Malamute but the Labrador never took to it.
This is such an amazing puppy product! My peaches would be absolutely in love with this! Shes a shihtzu, and the smartest little thing!
We are adopting a new puppy this month for my son. This would be great addition in his training and would help my 6 year old know when he needs to take the dog out.
I have outdoor dogs so I’ve never heard of “potty bells”, but in our electronic age this seems like a logical next step. I wonder if I could train my cats?
This would also be good for my dog to let me know she is hungry (instead of barking). My Jack Russell would love this in the house.
My chihuahua would be interrupting me all day long. I am fine with that.
OMG! This is so cool! It would not take my dog long to learn this and I would love the notifications… it’s sad that I need to be notified on my phone, but in these busy days… it would be helpful.
We just adopted a puppy who will be joining our other two dogs tomorrow. I would love to train her along with the two others
I would love this!!! I have 2 dogs, one is a puppy and I would love to train them to use this and let me know when they have to go outside.
I would love to give this a try!! Our puppy just wines by the door.
I think that this Smart Potty Bell is very cool! I would use this for my puppies!
This sounds awesome. We have a puppy we are trying to potty train and I think this would be helpful.
I think it is amazing. I never seen anything like it before. I would teach my dogs how to use it right away. So cool..
I love this concept and think it is a wonderful idea for little dogs. My mom has a little dog and this would be for most helpful for her.
I would use it for our new puppy who is working on potty training currently.
I absolutely love this! The front door is not visible from where we usually are in the house and she doesn’t bark when she should.
This sounds like a cool thing
I would use it at the back door that leads to the fenced yard. Both of my dogs would learn to use the bells.
my friend swears by the bell. I just got a new puppy and would love to try this method as she is getting potty trained
I would use this for my little old fur baby. That way he could just hit it and I would know it’s time for him to go out. Making my life and his much easier.
wow
We have 2 small dogs (marshall & Bandit) that will set at the door just waiting to be let outside to potty. This would be perfect so that my teens, myself & hubs would know when they need to go out. Thanks for the amazing chance!
This sounds like a great way to train dogs to let you know when they need to go.
This looks cool! We are always looking for a solution to puppy pee!
I do not have dogs but I am training my cats to use the toilet and this would be a good way to tell me when they used it so I can flush the toilet.
I love this option to teach my fur baby to alert us when it’s potty time. Seems to be a fun and awesome product to have plus very essential.
I’d love to buy this but I currently can’t. I’m really hoping I win this giveaway. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
I adopt older dogs. This would be a great way to train them.
Cool idea!
I love this! My corgi needs a few reminders on letting me know, when I’m not in the room, that she’s ready to go out. I think this is the perfect solutions!
I like Paws2Go. I would use it as a rewards tool.
This would be really awesome for my three bulldogs!
This is amazing doggy technology, what will the world think of next??? My dog texts me when it’s time to go potty??? LOL
